One of the questions I get asked the most is . . . “how do you get my makeup to last?” It’s a good one because I think the keys to makeup longevity is one of the LEAST talked about topics in makeup. When I hear clients complain about their makeup wearing off they usually think it’s the products they are using. I’m here to tell you, its not your products, instead it’s likely what you are NOT doing before and after applying your makeup products.
So I’m gonna let you in on some of the best kept makeup secrets with the the steps you need to add to your routine to get your makeup to last all day. Even better, I’m sharing some of my favorite products that you can use to get the job done! Best part, you can shop them all right here!
1 PRIME: Apply a primer after you moisturize and before applying foundation. Primer has a few purposes but helping your liquid or cream foundation grip to the face is its main function.
2 SET: After you apply all your liquids or creams, set them with a pressed or loose translucent powder
3 FINISH: When your makeup is complete, close your eyes and set your makeup a bit further with a setting spray. We call these miracle sprays “hairspray for the face.” Setting sprays also help hydrate the powders you used, giving you a healthy dewy finish.
